Fun Walking the Tunnel and Finding Gold

点评：Visiting on a Monday meant fewer crowds, but I imagine weekends and holidays are bustling with families. Even on hot days, the tunnel stays cool. Historically, miners endured the heat, often dressing scantily. Growing up in Tokyo and watching Shogun-era TV series, it was intriguing to see large gold nuggets and replicas of gold coins. My science-loving son enjoyed learning about how miners identified gold layers. Watch your head if you're over 6 feet tall; the tunnel was not made to accommodate you comfortably (LOL).
We tried finding gold outside and even as novices found 9 little pieces. Although it was humbling to see someone had found over 100 (with top miners listed), we enjoyed shaking our plastic pans together. The souvenir shop offered an array of items, from gold jewelry to gold-themed snacks.
Visiting the museum and trying gold mining require separate fees, but both are worth it. I didn't expect how enjoyable finding gold in the makeshift creek would be.
