点评:On a stinking hot day, we still loved our visit and were glad we did it. Shuttle golf carts take you from the carpark to the entrance. The sight is this vast structure rising up from the desert with towering cliffs behind, and I was surprised at how well preserved the Temple is. The ramp up takes you to the inner sanctuary, but it was disappointing that touts were charging for photos or to get close to view the interior. It was designed as a mortuary Temple for Hatshepsut plus it also extolled her many achievements during her reign of 1479-1458 BC. Plus, it was dedicated to Amun-Ra with other deities like Hathor & Anubis being acknowledged. She was one of only a few female Pharaohs in Ancient Egypt. Our guide as usual filled our heads with a plethora of Information on the Temple of Hatshepsut but on this hot day my interest waned sadly. The view speaks volumes on its own.
