点评:We took two Heritage walks in Pariala, both personally conducted by Ravee Singh Ahluwalia.
1. Baradari Garden walk:
A passionate mechanical engineer takes two students of biology for a botanical walk, intertwined with cultural preservation and social reform. Ravee changed our perceptions. Preservation of our Botanical heritage is akin to preserving our monuments. A fallen 100+ year Ashok tree is as much our loss as a destroyed historic monument.
Inspiring and enjoyable. A MUST if you are here in Patiala. Do try to walk barefoot for better connectivity with your surroundings.
2. Heritage walk through the Old Patiala City. The passionate expression for protecting Patiala’s monuments continued the next morning as we rode into the past with Ravee Ahluwalia, exploring Patiala’s history through its restored treasures…..awakening to the present. Lots of success stories and many struggles woven into a thoughtful story as well as a persuasive plea for preservation of our monuments.
Don’t miss it. It’s wonderful.
