点评:Our safari, booked through Reisekontor Schmidt, Leipzig, was organised by D.M. Tours. As only 15 kg of luggage per person was allowed for the safari, but we wanted to go on a beach holiday after the safari, D.M. Tours was supposed to store the beach luggage temporarily and then deliver it to the beach hotel on our arrival. D.M. Tours had 7 days to do this. On the day of arrival, we received the unpleasant information from D.M. Tours that our luggage was unfortunately still in Nairobi and would be delivered the next day. As we had integrated airtags in our luggage, we could see that our beach bag had not moved from Nairobi for 1.5 days. We then informed Reisekontor Schmidt about this, but they didn't really feel responsible because they had only organised the trip.
The beach bag finally arrived at the hotel after more than 2 days in a completely desolate condition. During these 2 days we were unable to swim, snorkel or go outside as the bag contained everything we needed for our beach holiday. As we were on an island, it was not possible to buy replacement clothing etc. (only 2 shirts + sunscreen in a souvenir shop).
We then asked Reisekontor Schmidt that D.M. Tours reimburse us compensation (50% of the price of the trip for 2 lost days) + the costs incurred for the two shirts/sun cream. Reiskontor Schmidt + D.M. Tours only reimbursed us 120€ as compensation. There remains a difference of 373 €, which D.M. Tours has not paid despite requests and deadlines.
Irrespective of this, we would also like to point out that D.M. Tours had us picked up more than two hours early for the flights to the safaris and the beach hotel. In contrast to other tour operators who dropped their guests off at the airport on time.
Based on our experience, we would not recommend D.M. Tours to others.
