Great but lodging not so great; single supplement too high

点评：The GAP and C & O Trail is fantastic, wonderful deciduous forests and rivers all along the way and marvelous birdlife and other wildlife. The trail grade was very good for the most part. We also happened to have fantastic weather, not too hot not too cold.
The lodgings could have been better. For example, in one place (forget where) there was construction going on and it was very noisy when I arrived in my room. I complained to the desk and they were not accommodating at all. In another town, our booking was at a former morgue, which had a certain interesting vibe, but the rooms were weird. This would all have been less irksome if I hadn't paid such a steep single supplement -- $900. I don't think that my rooms as a single were that much higher than for a double occupancy. I feel that that many companies, including this one, pad their costs by charging such high single supplements.
The guides were great and I had a wonderful time.
