GREAT rye whiskey. We did not expect to visit a distillery.

点评：On our trip to the Finger Lakes last week, we wandered into a liquor shop in Watkins Glen looking for a specific bourbon from Manhattan. They didn't have it but we were told about McKenzie bourbon made in the Finger Lakes. I work for a distillery in Kentucky and was intrigued so we looked them up. It is made by Finger Lakes Distilling. My husband and I stopped by and we were so happy we did. Natalie was great! They weren't doing tours but she gave us a lot of information about the facility, now long in business, where they source grain, etc. All information a bourbon person like we are would appreciate. And the tastings were great. We especially loved the rye whiskey. Everyone has a different palate and they have a lot of options such as a pot still which is like Irish Whiskey made with barley, bourbon, finished bourbons (in secondary barrels) and even gin (didn't try that). We purchased their 3 pack of 375ml bottles so we could take home a little of several products. Wish their products were distributed back home. If you love whiskey, give Finger Lakes Distilling a visit.
