Perfect pit stop for coffee, empanadas and tamales!

点评：Our driver, Alberto, from our private transportation stopped here from our long ride from San Jose to Arenal. He raved about the coffee, empanadas and tamales. He was absolutely right! We tried each empanada (I believe these were the choices): Cheese, Pinto (Beans), Pork and Chicken. The pork tamales are a MUST!!!! I loved them so much, Alberto gave me two more for the road. I wished I got a dozen!
It's an unassuming spot so you may miss it. But it's a great pit stop from the long drive for snacks and a little souvenir shopping. I think it's more of a souvenir store with a tiny cafe attached. Across the street has gorgeous views of open lush land and mountains.
While there, another 1-2 vans with a handful of visitors also stopped by but I think it was a quick rest/restroom stop for them. Maybe they weren't aware of the cafe with the great coffee, empanadas and tamales. That's why I'm sharing the tips about the food! It's definitely a must!
