One of our best stays ever!
Solar Branco Eco-Estate的点评
点评：Solar Branco is one of those places that’s just special. Ali and Caroline have created something truly unique. They and their whole team do everything right, and you can just feel it. My husband and I spent 5 amazing days there in March and already planned a trip for his parents to visit this fall - that’s how good it is. Top 5 places we’ve ever stayed, for sure.
I still dream about the breakfast spread - I wish I could have the farm fresh eggs, bolo levedo bread, pepper sauce and fresh cheese every day. Not to mention the delicious pastries and the fruit grown right in the garden! And we were already gin lovers, but Ali, his passion and his extraordinary collection has taken that to the next level. Don’t miss his masterclass and the nightly gin o’clock (with cocktails expertly prepared by Ricardo!). And Chef Joanna’s sushi dinner was exceptional - the freshest imaginable fish, paired with a special reserve collection of Japanese gins.
We stayed in the Ruin, which was lovely, spacious and private. I could’ve spent the whole stay just gazing at the spectacular view. The bed was extremely comfortable and we loved the outdoor shower. If I had to nitpick - and this is truly doing just that - we would’ve loved a rug on the upper level to make the space feel a bit warmer, and some seating on the significantly less windy lower deck.
We really appreciated the excellent communication before and during our trip and assistance making reservations. The guide the team has put together is comprehensive and extremely helpful - make sure to take advantage of it!
We rarely travel to the same place twice, but I truly hope we can return to Solar Branco before too long. Sao Miguel is an incredible island, and this was the perfect place to base ourselves for what was one of our favorite trips of all time. Thank you to Ali, Caroline, Ricardo, Joanna and the whole team for an amazing trip!
