点评:On 20 June 2025, I got stuck halfway down the Rapid slide at The Wave Waterpark Coventry. Water was still flowing, but I was physically unable to move. I shouted for help, but all I heard was a distant voice yelling “stay there.” No one came to help, and I wasn’t told how to get down. I had no idea there was an emergency ladder.
After a while of panic and fear, I slipped backwards by chance, landed at the bottom, and saw the emergency ladder — which I used to descend by myself. Only after I reached the ground did a staff member ask if I was okay. No staff were present at any point during the time I was stuck inside.
This was not only terrifying but left me with ongoing anxiety and trauma. What made it worse is how the park handled it afterward. They downplayed the incident, saying I was rescued “within one minute” even “not followed proper procedure.”— which is completely false. If I was really rescued that quickly, how could I have failed to follow their so-called safety procedure?
I received no instructions, no rescue, and only got out by pure luck. Yet the park’s response suggested the fault was mine. They claimed I didn’t respect their safety rules and that I should have stayed still and waited — despite no one ever physically coming to get me. Their explanation is self-contradictory and offensive.
I travelled all the way to Coventry to enjoy the slides. I never imagined the experience would leave lasting psychological scars. I feel betrayed, not only by the lack of safety but by how the truth was denied afterward. I hope no one else ever has to go through this.
I believe with such design problem there must be others ever stuck on the slide like me, please don’t keep silent!
Had this happened to a child, an elderly guest, or someone less physically able, the outcome could have been catastrophic.
I would strongly advise others to think twice before visiting.
