点评:I have read some really lovely reviews about the eco centre, and I completely understand where the writers are coming from. I also appreciate what the centre is trying to do, and the conservation efforts that they are making. However, as a family of mum, dad and two adult sons (22 and 19 years old) on a budget, this was an extremely expensive and underwhelming experience - $60 for the four of us, and at a stretch we were in there around 10 minutes.
We probably should have researched a little more before we arrived but it was a wet day, we were looking for something to do, and the photos outside indicated that there might be turtles and other wildlife being rehabilitated within the premises. There was a coconut crab in a glass enclosure, two very scared looking birds in a small enclosure (who I have no doubt are being well cared for), a stonefish, maybe an eel and a few small reef fish. There were museum type tools, dried corals, etc, and some panels to read, however the centre is small, and not engaging for everyone.
If you are interested in a museum type experience and you like to look at small artifacts and read in a museum type situation, this might be for you. My reason for a low rating is that it is very expensive for a very short experience if paying for four adults on a budget. The conservation effort is admirable, though, and I do appreciate that this is the intention of the centre.
