点评:As part of a bus tour, we visited the Plains of Abraham, the site of the 1759 British victory over the French during the Seven Years War. It is a large sprawling park that hosts events throughout the year. We learned that the following week, the park would be hosting a historical reenactment of the Battle of the Plains of Abraham complete with actors in period costumes portraying historical figures and soldiers.
At a lookout point, we admired a modern sculpture of large rings and a tall totem, each created by First Nation artists. We later read that the rings sculpture represented wampum beads to symbolize the past and new beginnings. The totem figures represent guardians who protect the First Nation community.
We also walked through the Joan of Arc Garden just outside the Plains of Abraham. The monument is the centerpiece of a small park featuring lush flowerbeds.
We did not have time to visit the Plains of Abraham Museum.
