点评:Located on Skidaway Road near the Isle of Hope Historic District, Wormsloe State Historic Site features only standing architectural remnant in Savannah from the founding of Georgia. My wife and I visited on a hot, humid Thursday in May 2025.
There is a good-sized parking lot next to the Visitor Center where you pay for admission to the plantation remnants. The plantation is 1.5 mi/2.4 km from the Visitor Center; a free tram runs back and forth from the Visitor Center to the plantation approximately every 30 minutes.
TIP: If you are physically able, walk to the plantation rather than taking the tram. The avenue takes you down a path lined with live oaks and Spanish moss that is one of the most iconic and oft-photographed scenes in the Savannah area.
Once you get to the plantation there are rest rooms, a small museum, and many paths and trails where you can explore the plantation remnants. We hiked the trail to through the Colonial Life section before taking the tram back to the Visitor Center.
Despite the steamy conditions, we were glad we made our way to Wormsloe State Historic Site. If you visiting Savannah and have a car, this is definitely a place you should visit.
