点评：Pierre Schwarz was an excellent guide for our 3 day visit to Santarém in February (part of a 3 week tour of Brazil). He and his mother picked us up promptly each morning, and his fluent English and friendly manner made communication effortless.
Day 1: Pierre drove us to Alter do Chão and arranged and accompanied us on a speedboat journey up the Arapiuns River to an indigenous settlement. We enjoyed refreshing swims, a tasty island lunch, and a sunset stop on the way back, all made more informative by Pierre’s insights into local culture and history.
Day 2: Boat trip to see close up the striking meeting of the Amazon and Tapajós rivers before heading to Maica Lake. The driver/spotter's expertise meant we spotted toucans, kingfishers, Hoatzins, and even a few sloths. He also doubled as an excellent photographer and we appreciated receiving those photos afterwards.
Day 3: We were driven to FLONA national park and hiked 7 seven through the rainforest with Pierre and a local guide he hired to join us pointed out rubber trees, medicinal plants, and a towering 58m kapok tree, and we had a cool river swim along the way.
Pierre’s company and expertise in botany, geology and local communities enriched each outing. For a well-rounded, informative guide in Santarém, we'd recommend Pierre without any hesitation.
