点评：One of our favourite places to visit, buy items for garden etc and to have refreshments. As usual the overall standards were very good and the staff very helpful. On this occasion my wife was forced to use a wheelchair and several problems were encountered - access to the toilets had 3 issues firstly the entrance door required the wheelchair to enter in reverse and then the disabled access was immediately in front and slow entry meant other people coming into the toilets hit the wheelchair, finally on leaving the exit was very difficult and needed another person to open it to allow her egress. We had lunch , my wife had a very tasty fish pie, I opted for the haddock and chips. The fish inside the batter was wet as if not completely unfrozen or not fully cooked. The excellent manager spoke to the chef who explained that the fish was not from frozen and replaced the meal. Sadly the second fish was identical seemingly under cooked and the batter was dripping cooking oil. I noticed in both cases that the batter was well cooked on the skin side of the fish but less well cooked on the top side. Is this a case of cooking too quickly perhaps ? I ate it and it was ok. But I shall not chose fish and chips there again. Sad because on the previous visits the food was very good in all aspects.
