点评:We came to Denia by tram on a day trip from Finestrat. To our pleasant surprise, the tram station is located right in downtown (unlike Calpe) close to the beach, the marina and the Castle.
The highlight of our Denia visit was the Castle. To us, it is almost on par with Santa Barbara Castle in Alicante. It is not as high, but you can get all-round panoramic views of the marina, the mountains, the city and the old town. While the Alicante castle is free, you do have to pay 3 Euros to get in. Seniors pay 2 Euros.
Unfortunately, the signboards at various vantage points explaining its history are all in Spanish, but the accompanying pictures were interesting and showed how the city looked like in the past, as compared to the views that we are now admiring.
We are really glad that we made this long trip to Denia, as it is such a nice and clean city. I think many tourists do not make this trip, as Denia is the furthest point along the tram line from Alicante. What a pity!
