BEST Way to Explore Big Bend!

点评：My husband and I, along with another couple - all in our 60's - recently went on a Go Big Bend day trip excursion to get to know the other-worldly Big Bend region in our home state. What a blast it was! Their website gives a great selection of itineraries to choose from with options to leave from different neighboring towns and even customize a trip. Plus they have lots of special excursions that sound so fun.
We chose the River Road and Big Bend West Side all-day excursion. Our tour guide and owner Mike Davidson was wonderful to deal with. From my beginning email inquiry, he responded quickly to all questions. Mike picked us up at a hotel in Alpine and drove us in a big SUV on the most beautiful scenic routes through both the state and national parks. Mike was very knowledgeable about the whole Big Bend region - animals, vegetation, history and geology. He kept us entertained with stories and conversation in between all our stops to walk around, explore canyons and take tons of beautiful photos. He was considerate of our activity level abilities, and provided snacks, water, lunch and all the convenience stops needed.
Our trip was at the end of February and we were lucky to have beautiful weather. Started cool in the morning, then got a bit warm, so we had to shed some layers. But even if it had been cloudy and/or raining, what a great excursion! We would definitely love to do it again in the future. Very highly recommended - thanks Mike!
