点评:We came to Zuni on our recent Southwestern Tour and came to the Visitor’s Center for the Middle Village Tour. Before the tour, we were able to buy a photo permit as well. The pass will give you permission to photograph most locations in the town, and in the Pueblo area, but not in the sacred plaza or of cultural events. Your tour guide can tell you what is permissible. Before our tour, we received a thorough premiere on the origin of Zuni, and the history of the town, its people (the "A:Shiwi"), and its architecture. For example, the Pueblo area sits on layers of previous structures which have raised the town center high above the surrounding area. We were particularly honored to be invited to the sacred plaza to view the Comanche dance. Our guide offered many insights into Zuni tradition and history, and also advised us on where to buy native arts and the best local dining. The tours from the visitors center are knowledgeable, and come from a very personal place, making it a true honor to be invited to experience their culture and history.
