点评：Fantastic little place that started off as a butterfly farm and has grown into a sanctuary for rescued animals from exploitation. These animals can’t be released back into the wild for various reasons - maybe they were raised in a human household so don’t have the natural instincts to survive in the wild.
The animals are well looked after here allowing natural behaviour and not being handled by humans. The animals come for human interaction if they choose.
The lady who runs it is so knowledgeable and passionate about educating people on how to protect the biodiversity of the jungle and cares deeply for the animals in her care. This place is a genuine rescue centre, not just built for tourists or to make money. They work to educate people on protecting the biodiversity of the jungle and not exploiting it.
You walk through an enclosure to keep you away from the animals so that they can have more space to roam. You can walk through the butterfly area and have them fly around you. Then visit the ‘hatchery’ which contains unusual looking caterpillars and chrysalis.
Look out for Ken the monkey who likes to surprise you by jumping on the fences overhead to get a reaction! But it’s advised not to react to him as this just encourages the behaviour.
Overall, a fantastic visit to a great place. We are glad we went and would recommend it.
