点评：In late April, I embarked on a bucket list hiking experience - The Overland Track in Tasmania. This adventure was truly unforgettable, offering breathtaking scenery and a pristine wilderness that felt untouched by time. Our journey was led by two expert guides from Tasmania Walking Co (TWC), whose knowledge of the terrain and local history enriched our experience immensely. Not only did they show us the beauty of the landscape, but they also fostered a spirit of camaraderie among our group. We passed the kilometers by chatting, playing word games, and sharing moments of quiet reflection.
We hiked a slightly altered route due to the loss of hut 2 in January's fire, but honestly, it didn't diminish our experiences in the slightest. Hansons, was one of the most memorable days. Arriving at the TWC huts each afternoon felt like finding gold after a day of hiking. The common area was warm and inviting, offering freshly brewed chai tea and other delightful treats. While the sleeping and bathroom amenities were basic, they met our needs and ensured we had restful nights.
Every step of the hike was a feast for the eyes. I was captivated by the changing colors of the fagas tree, the climb to the peak of Mt. Pelion East, and the lush moss forests. The vibrant rainbow of fungi, vast button grass fields, and the awe-inspiring mountains provided countless highlights. To top it all off, the stargazing at night was simply the icing on the cake!
