点评：Our 11 day Island Hopping trip to the Azores was fantastic. We started off on Sao Miguel staying in Ponta Delgada. We had wonderful day trips with an amazing guide, Filipe. We were lucky enough to have him as our guide for 2 full day tours and they were wonderful experiences which included delicious lunches and our great fellow passengers. Filipe is an expert guide with a vast knowledge of the Azores and San Miguel. At our hotel we met people from our own small state of Rhode Island.
Our next stop was on the island of Faial and we were again lucky to have a fantastic guide, Ramiro. We couldn’t have been in better hands as he took us all around the island and to a great lunch. He even gave us a great recommendation for a restaurant nearby and he helped us get a cab ordered for the next day since we needed to get to the ferry terminal to go to Pico.
Our guide at Pico, Jerson, is a wonderful and knowledgeable young man who guided us all over Pico and since we had him all to ourselves that day, we had an opportunity to sit and just talk about different things. He also scheduled us for a last minute wine tasting which was great. We even met people from our New England states there!
Our last island stop was Terceira where we were guided for 2 days—day one with Andre who showed us all over the island and day two which was a hike with Jaime. I can’t say enough about the two of them. Like our other guides they were very knowledgeable. Jaime especially guided us on a great hike with beautiful views. He even picked up water for us because he knew our tour the day before was a full day and we didn’t have an opportunity to pick up any before our hike.
This was a jam packed vacation but with our expert guides I have never felt more relaxed.
