New Location, Still Charming!
Talk Story Bookstore的点评
点评：We make it a point to visit this wonderful family-owned bookstore each time we visit Kauai. It has become our tradition to purchase our vacation reading material from this store. We love the relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff... and most of all, we love "Boss Kitty" Natalie.
We were surprised to arrive at their former Hanapepe location to find it closed and a sign indicating their new location. They have moved approximately 4 minutes in the Waimea direction, are on the highway and easy to find using Google Maps.
The new building looks nondescript on the outside, but once you step inside, you will see that all the charm of the old location is still there, and there is a bit more space, which is nice. Everything felt clean and the books were neatly organized.
Natalie is still in her bed on a shelf behind the front desk, just as she was in the previous location. There is a sign indicating to exercise caution, as she "may bite." We have never had an issue with this, and have always found Natalie to be friendly and appreciative of head and chin rubs. If you approach slowly and respectfully, and know how to pet a cat, she will probably love the attention.
This charming bookstore is worth a visit, on a drive to/from Hanapepe or Waimea. We love the relaxing drive to this independent bookstore (not very many like it around these days)... and we always make a purchase to support Natalie!
