点评：Getting away from the maddening crowd isn't easy in India. I even dare to say, at the end of my fifth tour tru this vast nation in four decades, that it takes about as much time and patience as to get to Jogdalpur. But ones you are there, you'll be able to not just enjoy the relative ease and calm of this pleasant city, but you can use it as a base to explore, with the welcoming help of the Tourist Board of Chhittagarh, the tribal peoples and their peaceful and vast natural habitat in Bastar, as I did.
For thee days a safe drivers and a very frendly and competent young guide did not only take me to see the waterfalls, the various Shiva tempels, the very welcoming tribal peoples in their tranquile hamlets, the week markets and even an annual festival etcetera, but led me without much explination and ado to a wonderful, be it a short trip on a bamboe raft as well as a quiet sit inn on a camping stool in a calm and refreshing stream with my bare feet in the water. And just at the moment I was wandering if this was what I'm paying for, I closed my eyes and heard the songs and sounds of mother nature. Then I realised with how much love, understanding and enthousiasme for Bastar and its peoples he was guiding me thru this unexplored region. And how much effort they put in their mission to keep these tourist venture's sustainable.
So get off the beaten tracks. You'll have to put in effort and a bit of boldness, but I now can assure you, the return on your investment will be a very pleasant surprise.
