Average stoney beach, wonderful coastline views

点评：Saturday 9th September and we walked along the Promenade Reis Magos, from our Hotel, Riu Madeira to this beach. It is a short walk roughly 500 metres, it is the nearest beach to the hotel.
It is a rather typical Madeiran beach, comprising of pebbles and stones, washed by the Atlantic Ocean.
Along the pebbles there were static umbrellas for visitors to sit or lie under. Also there were wooden pallets which could be used as sun beds.
The beach was protected by man-made rock promontories jutting out in to the sea. With a concrete pier, resembling a small harbour. There were steps down from the pier wall into the sea, people appeared to enjoy jumping or diving into the water rather than use the steps.
At the back of the beach there was a vast concreted area upon which people chose to lie out on. There were some static umbrellas here as well. From there steps led down to a smaller, not much used section of the beach.
There were showers and toilets available here they were near to the Diving School. There were a couple of restaurants along the concreted area at the back of the beach.
On the promenade approaching the beach there was a small makeshift hut where massages were available.
Although we were not overly impressed with the beach, the walk here was worth it to enjoy the wild and rugged coastline views.
