Blasket Island Ferries的点评
点评：I had visited the Great Blasket once before from Dingle but didn't have very long on the island on that occasion. The trip from Dunquin is faster, cheaper and gives you more time there, so you can join one of the free OPW tours and do some exploring on your own too. I had a lovely day there, with the sea calm and the cloud lifting just before we arrived, so we had glorious views.
I can't praise Blasket Island Ferries enough for all their help. I initally emailed from England, explaining that I would be coming by bus from Killarney and wasn't sure that I'd either make it to the pier to pick up my ticket in time for the 11.45 sailing or if I went an hour later, that I'd be able to get back to Killarney that day. Sibeal from the office answered all my emails very promptly, late into the evening, and confirmed the Dunquin bus should drop me at a turn which was less than 5 minutes from the pier, rather than the normal 20 minute walk down from Kruger's pub. That made all the difference, as the bus was delayed by road works and cyclists!
The company will text you the evening before to confirm whether the sailing will go ahead the next day and my original booking had to be cancelled because the waves at the pier were too high. But when I asked, Sibeal booked me in for the following week, and that trip went ahead without incident. Blasket sland Ferries' customer service is second to none and I highly recommend them. (The free guided tour is also excellent.)
