点评:So after a visit to the Village bakery for supplies we set off, taking the chairlift from Thredbo up the mountain to Eagles Nest (1930m). That was easy! But then the walking started, first towards the Mt Kosciuszko lookout; then past Lake Cootapatamba (highest lake in Oz?) stopping for our first major rest at Rawson Pass. Pushed on towards the Mt Kosciuszko Summit (2228m), which is the highest peak in Australia (a baby compared to the Himalayas at ~8000m) where we had another big rest. [Interesting … the 4G reception is very good at the top of Mt K]. Back down to Rawson Pass for lunch and an interesting ‘tourist attraction’ being the stone toilets; which are the highest toilets in Australia. (I have decided to call them The Big Drop). Walked to Seaman’s Hut, built as a shelter in the 1900s for people caught by bad weather in the mountains. The varying landscapes; alpine flowers; and even a couple of snowdrifts … all pretty cool.
