Worth a visit but needs some TLC

点评：We were drawn to the A frame as it towered above the landscape. Although the site is a great example of regeneration and sustainability, there is something quite sad about this location. The story boards tell the tale of the impact of mining (some good, some not so good, some tragic) on the community, and why the colliery had to close. You are transferred back to another time.
However, what seems to have been at one time a great project to remind everyone of the impact of the mine and mining, and the incredible sacrifices made by so many, now appears to have been neglected for some time. One of the story boards is missing, one was damaged, and the audio facility was not working. The site is in danger of becoming totally overgrown with weeds. Don’t be put off going, but whoever is responsible for the upkeep of the site needs to take some action.
A wee suggestion, instead of the two huge troughs of rough gravel under the frame, how about two wild flower gardens instead?
