Not what the Ren Faire use to be....
Renaissance Pleasure Faire的点评
点评：Not as fun as it use to be....
Originally started going to the Faire in 1968. In comparison to today's Faire, no resemblance. Because of that, my review is tainted by old values and ethics.
I miss the massive audience participation and roleplaying that use to go on. I miss the sellers' and workers' intense participation in roleplaying and atmosphere enhancement.
I miss the actors and actresses that provided characters that I remembered for over forty years. No one at Corporate has replaced those characters like Sir Francis Drake or Black Jack!
Long ago, half of Hollywood's staff workers use to show up....best costumes and acting ever! I do not see them anymore.
Commercially, the Ren Faire is doing well, at least at the price point it costs to go there. The Faire is packing the people in.
Emotionally, the Ren Faire just does not have the Renaissance Pleasure Faire soul it use to have.
I know all things change but Corporate could make the changes IF it wanted to. Probably not a profitable move for Corporate.
Because of the crowds and services, I recommend no more than three hours at this event.
