Coffs Harbour Butterfly House的点评
点评：When the sun is out and you’re looking for something to do with your family, this place has a few things going more than just the butterfly house.
Our rating reflects our experience of the location, it has a small butterfly enclosure with a limited range of butterflies at the time of our visit. There are multiple things to do at this stop though and is good place to stop if you have short amount of time or have a short attention span.
There seems to be a surprising mash up of ideas from the time you arrive and park before you enter there is Alice in Wonderland, Harry Potter and Dinosaurs. Some areas that need more up keep and attention for being maintained as it is a little tired or overgrown. Accessibility is available however can be limiting in some areas.
Loves: revisit the butterfly house during your visit as many times as you like. Saw caterpillars, butterflies and engaged in the QR code interaction points. We were provided a helpful brochure which Miss 10 enjoyed reading as she spotted the few varieties we found. Shaded parking and variety of activities for short attention spans, interactive and multi sensory for the young ones. Miss 10 was very excited by the baby dinosaur (life like puppet) and loved engaging with it.
Things to note: There is a Wonderland themed maze, mirror maze and dinosaur park with short shows. You must wear your band, they check visitors to the different areas through subtle engagement strategies and if not visible they will ask as they come around or approach.
Onsite is a Wonderland themed cafe which is a fun and quirky place to meet up for a cuppa and chat with family or friends. We saw a chess set near the cafe and a beautiful family of peacocks.
The team are friendly, informative and helpful. You could visit for less than an hour or as we were for up to 2 hours.
We saw families who brought a picnic mat, esky and had a picnic with their family and friends during the dinosaur show.
There are lots of photo opportunities and selfies with dinosaurs if you love animatronics and dinosaur themed areas. Kids will love getting in the egg shells, exploring and interacting with different things.
We observed lots of active kids and families young and older who liked the challenge of the maze, some not so keen on the mirror maze were freaked out and others who wanted to do it over and over needing to be convinced to leave.
Note the pathways are not all secured, like a natural space be sure to watch your step. I watched a number of young and older people nearly fall on their faces or slip and trip and just saved themselves.
With a little up keep and maintenance this place has a few things that will appeal to many. We would have liked to see a larger butterfly variety and more of a fluttery experience similar to ones we have experienced elsewhere. Overall, warm and welcoming experience had by the team and would recommend for something quirky and fun to do with active families.
