点评:We had the pleasure of visiting the centre on the 22nd Feb 25, spending 90 minutes getting to know 4 beautiful owls: Kiko the Barn owl, Biggles the Tawny owl, Cargotto the African Spotted owl and mighty Miranda the Eurasian Eagle owl.
On entering the area we met and flew the owls we were immediately given a heavy falconer’s gauntlet for our left arm which the birds land on. Winderful to have them swoop in from their enclosures and land on a perch then entirely of their own volition (a snack helped!)
We learned so much about each species, their natural habitats, estimated populations, reasons for decline in sone species, their anatomy, success stories and the background story of each owl and all the birds of prey at the centre which for various reasons are unable to live in the wild - they are not being held hostage; each bird is treated and spoken of with a true understanding, respect and fondness.
The centre is immaculate, each entrant must disinfect their footwear on entry, the enclosures pristine, birds content, the woodland carefully managed,
We were able to take as many photos as we could possibly manage.
We would definitely visit again and have told several family and friends about the experience over the past 2 days.
