Fantastic support in initially testing weather

点评：Whitsunday Rent A Yacht provided us with a very well looked after and fully fitted out catamaran. Everything was in great working order and maintained to a high standard. What particularly impressed us was the initial briefing and familiarisation with the boat. Mark, a highly experienced yachtsman, took us through the boat and then took us onto the water to ensure that skipper and crew were comfortable with anchoring and picking up moorings before we set off. He also provided valuable advice on first night anchorages which gave us a great deal of much needed confidence as we were setting off into 25 to 35 knots of wind and I will confess, we were a little anxious. The twice daily radio check in’s were also a great confidence booster. We were reassured that the base was keeping an eye on us and it was good to have regular weather updates and discuss our plans for the next day to make sure we were attempting a suitable itinerary.
The weather moderated throughout the week and we had the most fantastic holiday. Hamilton Island was a great stop for one night to replenish supplies and the staff there provided excellent assistance with mooring. But the highlight of the week was undoubtedly our visit to the spectacular Whitehaven Beach and night at Tongue Bay.
