Authentic coffee experience with a local hard-working family

点评：Our experience in the tour at Café Don Emilio’s finca exceeded our expectations by far. It is a highly recommended experience if you want to see a local hard-working family with an indisputable love for coffee.
From the moment you arrive, Deiner and his family make you feel right at home. They received us with the biggest smile, a great cup of coffee and some freshly baked banana bread by Doña Rita. Btw make sure to bring a 4x4! Even with one we got a flat tire. Make sure to drive very carefully and ask Deiner for the right address before you depart for the tour. On the way to the finca you won’t have phone coverage so make sure to be prepared and leave in time.
During the tour, Deiner explained to us everything about the history of the finca, their coffee cultivation and production methods, coffee bean quality check, coffee bean roasting, and more. It is a very immersive experience with a very knowledgeable guide and it’s great, because you get theory and practice in once. What you are explained, you can see with your own eyes, and you can even taste. We learned a lot!
During the tour we got a break with the most delicious pineapple and, after the tour, we got to taste a local meal cooked by Doña Rita. You get the most authentic experience for sure!
In my opinion, as a tourist it’s important to give your money to local, hard-working people, instead of big corporations like Starbucks. Café Don Emilio treats you like family and the coffee is of the highest quality. Don’t hesitate and book your tour today.
