A Fair Approach to Green Fees Post-Aeration: Balancing Maintenance and Playability

点评：My self and 6 other golfers recently play at the Riverside Golf Course in Fairmont Hot Springs something we have been doing since the course opened in 1988. However, this trip our experience was marred by the greens' condition, which had been aerated recently. In all the years we have been coming in the 3 rd. week of September this has never occurred. We realize this maintenance procedure is essential for turf health, but unfortunately made putting quite challenging. What compounded the issue was the lack of communication from the course about the aeration schedule. If we had know we would of golf elsewhere. The 10% discount on the green fees that was provided was insufficient given the impact on our golfing experience. In hindsight, we believe that golf courses should offer more substantial compensation or at least ensure that golfers are well-informed about such maintenance activities in advance to manage expectations appropriately or schedule play at another course.
