点评：One of the most iconic temple structures I have ever seen. Visited this place and many other sites in Hampi in Aug 2024. Probably the best time of the year to visit as it is neither too hot nor cold. There is a battery operated buggy that will take you from the parking lot to the entrance. Perfect if you are taking your old aged parents with you for sightseeing. The Stone Chariot is absolutely grand. Most structures have so much of intricate stone carvings that show wonderful stories of our Puranas (Hindu literature). Thanks to the new 50 rupees note, a lot of Indian tourists have started coming. Otherwise, Hampi was mostly visited by foreigners is what we were told. What I really loved about Hampi and most of the places visited was that it was very clean. Was proud of my indian heritage after seeing these places, all thanks to Archeological Survey of India (ASI) who have done a phenomenal job in restoring many of the ruins. If you are ever visiting Hampi and need an english speaking guide Virupaksha (planet_hampi@gmail.com) is the right person for you. He is a native of Hampi and knows all the great places to visit. Depending on the days you are visiting he will plan a perfect itinerary that isn’t tiring at all. To give you an idea we visited a lot of places with 3 old aged parents, 2 young kids, my wife and me. All of us thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
