卡莱尔大教堂的点评
点评：Carlisle Cathedral to me is the must see in Carlisle rather than the Castle . We (myself and my daughter) were met at the door by a friendly gentleman who gave us a laminated card highlighting what to see such as the stained glass windows, the blue ceiling and the Treasury etc.
We loved the blue ‘starry ceiling’ with each one containing a sun and 16 stars (except one) and seeing the face within and the 51ft high and 26ft wide East Window is the largest of the Flowing Decorated Gothic Style in England.
Take time to look at the beautiful Mothers Union Banner and read the Story of Theodore Hardy a clergyman who won the Military Medal, the DSO and Victoria Cross and also the fab window about the Creation! Not long before we came to leave, we met a very knowledgeable and friendly lady called Julie who told us even more about the history of the Cathedral. Such a character and asset to the volunteers. We were more than happy to make an electronic donation prior to leaving, which helps to maintain such an important and beautiful part of our history.
