Great walking with the dogs but watch out for discarded rubbish at heads of Ayr beach.

点评：Went to 3 areas of the beach during our Scotland holiday earlier this month. The sea front at Ayr has a fabulous open sandy beach stretching for miles, regularly cleaned from what we could see. A digital display board giving tide times and water cleanliness. Plenty of parking places along the sea front with amenities to cater for most people.
A bit further down the coast, the heads of Ayr beach was a sand/pebble beach. Not as accessible as the sea front at Ayr and definitely not as clean. Plenty of discarded rubbish could be seen, very probably originating from the nearby holiday camp. Why can’t people clean up after themselves?
A little bit further down the coast is Greenan castle, also a sand and pebble beach, easily accessible and much cleaner than heads of Ayr.
Fabulous walking along the beaches with the dogs and spectacular views of the Isle of Arran. I’ll give 5 stars to Ayr seafront, 4 stars for the beach at Greenan castle but only 3 stars for the heads of Ayr because of all the rubbish.
