The New Restaurant and Butchers.

点评：We're local and thought we'd try the updated
restaurant. Never again. It's a canteen.
1. Unable to look at food, be tempted, you eat with your eyes. And check out food and drink
before buying.
2. I ordered an elderflower lemonade, which came in a glass. It initially tasted wonderful but proved after swallowing, undrinkable as it included some kind of sweetener. I always look at bottles to check ingredients before buying. I asked to see the bottle which wasn't available. The make was Simply, after checking online, I was right, it contained sweeteners. If I had known that I wouldn't have had it.
3. My daughter ordered a cake which we thought looked small, it looked and tasted as if bought. Not homemade.
4. My son hilariously summed up the experience as like a canteen or a motorway service station. Get 'em in and out soon as possible. A thoroughly unpleasant experience the complete absolute opposite of what it was previously. It was wonderful, a treat.
5. You may or may not be aware how cheap and utilitarian the area is and will rapidly look shabby.
6. While here, another gripe. I stopped buying meat from the butchers years ago after I discovered that the meat isn't local it comes in from all over the country. Nothing at all like the local family butchers as shown in the photographs displayed.
The shop is brilliant as are the vegetables, nice and fresh. We buy your animal products but I've been using real local farm shops, sadly they don't do food.
You get a lot of passing trade, maybe that's why you can afford to run this place down, but I hope that this may help in some way should things prove problematic.
