Just the architecture of the building alone would make the Viking Center worth a visit!

点评：We arrived via cruise ship and a representative of the museum was handing out flyers. All aboard was 4:30 PM and my shore excursion finished at 3:25 PM. I hurried over there and made it by 3:35 PM. The doors were locked and the sign said they closed at 4:00 PM and last entry was 3:30 PM. As I was looking in through the glass front door two staff members exited the building by the side door and said they would let me in and I could have a quick look since I had practically run from the port and there were still staff in the building. His name was Jason and he told me I could reference him which I did. However, It was not convenient for the two young ladies at the register and another lady came to the desk did not seem happy either so I said it was no problem and apologized and left. I am still giving the museum a five star review. Why? Jason and his associate were helpful and kind and really wanted to allow me a quick look! They are an asset to this museum and ambassadors for their city. The architecture of the building is STUNNING and I did get to see the replica of the Viking ship from the entry and it looks fantastic as did the rest of the museum. If you are in the area, it is a 10 to 15 minute walk along the water from the cruise terminal and there is a big parking lot if you arrive by car. If I ever come back I will definitely pay a second visit after checking the opening times!
