点评：Short trail, but fairly steep down outgoing, up incoming.
Take water.
Listen to the volunteer stationed at the trailhead if they are there.
At the bottom you are on Pololu Beach… fine black sand.
It is a beautiful place.
Honor the spirit of Native Hawaiians and leave things as you find it, do not descrecrate it by piling stones… or stealing sand or rocks.
We are visitors to the Island. You would want visitors to your house to respect your house. We need to respect theirs.
You can almost understand the first Hawaiians stepping foot on the island. The Big Island is visible from some of the other Islands, and I don’t know if it’s the last one the Polynesians reached, but humans are a recent phenomena for the islands. It definitely feels that way, that we are recent.
It will long be there after we are all gone, and you can feel that too.
Due to the difficulty of the trail, if you are fit enough to take it on, it is definitely worth your effort and be rewarded by the location.
