Great Value Place with friendly folk and Amazing Alpacas

点评：WoW! Five stars for this wonderful place. Living in Devon, only about 20 miles away, we had heard of and been recommended to go to Woolley Animals by several friends and last Friday we finally went. My wifes friend had been given a voucher to go "Walking With Alpacas" and I volunteered to drive the ladies there. Originally I was going to drop them off and go and find a Cafe or a country pub for a pint, then pick them up after their walk. I am so glad I didn't!
We found the place just outside Winkleigh easily enough and parked up. Both the ladies where greeted by the charming young lady on the gate, with a smile and a friendly chat, as they had a voucher, they did not have to pay entry, but my wifes friend treated me to the superb value entry price of £4.50 and got me a bag of animal feed as well.
We where guided down towards the Cafe and main area, on the way being greeted by a plethora of furry animals, Alpacas, Goats, Pigs and Donkeys, all geared up to be the recipients of the contents of my feed bag. The animals where all lovely, clean, tidy and well groomed and obviously well cared for, but also friendly.
We found the well stocked Cafe and Gift shop, where we had time for a swift Cup of Tea/Coffee before the girls walk started. The lady in the Cafe was charming, friendly and a wonderful ambassador for the venue and once we had drunk our tea, the ladies went around the corner to collect their waiting Alpacas. Some 15/16 people where also walking, but the animals where well presented and the girls where supplied with a bum bag each containing carrots to treat any recalcitrant furry friend that was being stubborn.
After a short briefing and photo opportunity, they set off across the fields for over an hours walk all with an Alpaca on a lead. I walked back around the corner and availed myself of another cup of their excellent coffee and a cracking bacon cheese burger, again at a decent price. The cafe menu was all very reasonable and in no way could you complain about service, quantity or quality. The coffee was top notch, especially appreciated as I hate poor quality coffee. Again the lady running the cafe was friendly and we had a chat, poor soul, someone had to put up with my mundane conversation and she didn't glaze over....
Suitably refreshed I wondered around the animals and shared my bag of food with all of them and was rewarded with being able to stroke them and share the odd scratch behind the ear. The goats where just as big a characters as the Alpacas and the sheep in the main barn where friendly. The biggest joy though was listening to the excited squeals of delight from the plethora of little ones as they waddled around clutching their tiny buckets of feed, giggling merrily as they where licked and nibbled whilst sharing their goodies. All around me where happy faces, some young, some old, but all absorbing the positive aura coming from the animals.
My food bag empty, the ladies returned from their walk, buzzing with excitement about what a fun and uplifting time they had. Alpacas certainly give your mental health a boost and they where definitely in a brighter mood after their walk. Then back into the cafe, for the Cream Tea which was part of the package, then a goodbye to animals and the wonderful staff, before returning home. We shall come again and cannot praise the venue enough, yes its a farm, so be prepared for some mud, dirt and Alpaca "Do Do", but its far better than sitting in front of Multimedia Displays and inanimate exhibits. It's nature, it's great and it lifts the soul.

经过简短的介绍和拍照机会后，她们出发穿过田野，步行一个多小时，牵着一只羊驼。我走回拐角处，又喝了一杯他们家的优质咖啡，吃了个美味的培根芝士汉堡，价格也还不错。咖啡馆的菜单都很合理，你绝对不会抱怨服务、数量或质量。咖啡是一流的，我特别喜欢，因为我讨厌劣质咖啡。经营咖啡馆的女士也很友好，我们聊了聊，可怜的人，有人不得不忍受我平淡无奇的谈话，她也没有无动于衷……
精神焕发后，我四处游荡，和它们分享了一袋食物，并得到了抚摸它们的奖励，还分享了它们耳朵后面的奇怪抓挠。山羊和羊驼一样大，主谷仓里的绵羊也很友好。不过，最大的乐趣是听着一大群小家伙兴奋的尖叫声，它们抓着小小的饲料桶蹒跚而行，一边分享食物，一边被舔着、啃着，一边咯咯地笑着。我周围都是快乐的面孔，有的年轻，有的年老，但都吸收着动物身上的积极气息。
