点评:it was a bleak day when we went on this cruise, and in a way that made it better: the cold and wind brought the loneliness of the surroundings to the fore and also meant the boat wasn't too crowded so you could get a good spot for seeing all and everything, the water on the river was like glass and the effect of the mirror image of the rainforest was spectacular as was the walk through the mossy ancient trees with a witty and expert guide who i believe was on her last day...she will be a loss... Sarah Island was fascinating and again the weather accentuated what a cold and miserable hole it must've been 200 years ago, as did the short trip out into the teeth of the roaring 40's through hell's gates which thrilled some of the kids on board with a bit of swell-jumping... the ship was as clean as a whistle, the crew friendly, the guides entertaining and right up on their subject, and the lunch was restaurant quality, everything was impeccable even down to the 5 buck cup of excellent soup you could buy after standing out in the bracing wind on the front deck.......we drove A LONG WAY to get there and didn't regret a second or a cent spent, the whole day was really worthwhile, and excellent value, an absolutely 100% experience from go to whoa...
