点评:We were in Bisbee to celebrate my birthday, and had planned to visit several places there, however, due to a detour delay (between St. David and Tombstone), we arrived in Bisbee, much later than planned.
We lingered over a late lunch, and then, ran out of time for anything else. However, before leaving Bisbee, decided to drive up and visit this beautiful church again. The doors were closed, and as it was after 4 pm, we thought they might be locked. When we pulled on the handle, they opened easily, and upon entering, we saw that there were quite a few people inside. Some were deep in prayer, and some were walking around admiring those gorgeous windows.
I think that to fully appreciate the beauty of liturgical art in stained glass, one must come earlier, when there is more sunlight. At 4:15, only one window was brightly lit by the sun. However, we still sat there for about 20 minutes, observing the beauty around us. Emil Frei, an artist and visionary, is responsible for the stained glass windows of this church.
