Bull Bay is even better than I remember

点评：I used to bring my family on holiday to Anglesey every year when they were young and, with another dad, we used to play 36 holes at Bull Bay for about 8 years. I have just returned today to play Bull Bay again after 5 or 6 years and I am so blown away by the course. It was sunny and warm today with only a slight breeze which I managed to use on occasion. The club have continued to cut back the unnecessary rough but there were a few things that I wasn't aware of. on the ninth (I think) the hole requires a 190 yard drive that hits a raised area before rolling down into a small depression, from which you have a 100 yard pitch onto a sloping green. I hit what I thought was a perfect drive that bounced over the mound and into the depression. What I found was that the club, in my absence, had dug a trench the length of the depression, and my ball was in it. I got away with a 6 after a penalty drop.
However, what made the difference for me, apart from the perfect weather (which isn't always the case), was that I am now a 15 handicapper and I was closer to 25 when I came before, and I could compete against the course. Apart from 2 mistakes on 16 and 17 which cost me 4 shots, I was equal to the course. In fact my score of 89 was 4 over my handicap which could have been much better if not for the mistakes mentioned. The course is a true test of a golfers game and I can't wait to come back again
