点评:When coming down from Mirabela, you enter St.Micheal Square and must walk by this church. It is a beautiful small historic church, worth visiting even for a moment while visiting the old town. My guidebook had little information so I had to do some digging to find information.
It was built at the beginning of the 17th century, as evidenced by an inscription written in Latin placed at the side door of the church, to replace the medieval church which was too small for the town’s citizens.
The church was built mainly by local builders, and the old stone bell tower was completed in the 18th century.
The outer side of the church walls is decorated with the coats of arms of Venetian noblemen and the coat of arms of the city of Omiš.
The ornate entrance was carved from Brač stone, including Corinthian columns decorated in an interesting fish-scale pattern.
Inside there's a single nave with a high vaulted ceiling, a gilded high altar and some beautiful paintings.
