点评：When we turned up, we weren’t expecting much. However, when we popped into the cafe, or the reception as it was known, we were blown away with enthusiasm and hospitality.
We were told that we simply must find someone to give us a tour guide. Spin waiting momentarily, we were approached by an incredibly enthusiastic fellow who explained that he would give us a tour. He did firstly ask if we were in a hurry as he did fancy consuming his coffee and cake first! We explained that no, we were in no rush.
As we went into the cafe, as instructed by the aforementioned jolly chap, he thrusted deep into the history and requirements of twine and how paramount it was to the village.
After examining numerous photos and laminated artefacts from the periods, he festered that we must now embrace the outside chill and wonder the site.
He was simply marvellous. His in-depth knowledge, precision and passion shone through him and he is a credit to the site and the whole industry.
Through diesel engines all the way through animal guts and remains, he had the whole audience on the edge of your seat. After approximately an hour of a completely free tour guide, myself and my wife were exhausted from twine. This was quite simply, a must do experience if, and when you visit Yeovil. 10 stars.
