Not the best experience! A big let down.
South Toledo Bend State Park的点评
点评：Our trip to South Toledo Bend State Park started off on the wrong foot immediately on the way to the park. We received a call from the park ranger stating that the Reservation campsite that we booked online was being occupied by someone else and there was a mixup. he apologized, but stated he did not realize how this happened and offered us another spot, because the attendants at our spot were already set up. That spot was a perfect spot viewing the lake with a nice fire pit, and picnic table area on a deck. It also had easy access to the pier on the water. He shared that all other lake viewing spots were taken and offered us a different spot that not by the lake & was dead end the middle of a playground & comfort station… lots of busy areas, people walking, and we were in the middle of all that. It was very uncomfortable. All sites are very close to each other. On our second night there the neighbors across the street had a concert going on all night with very loud music that we were unable to even talk to each other inside our tent. We are not old people and love to have a good time, but it was extremely loud, and nobody asked them to be respectful of others around.
What bugs me the most is that we were forced to take a campsite that we did not want and did not purchase and had we known we would have not gone there. It completely ruined our first experience at this state park and we will definitely not return and they did not offer to even refund our money or comp us in any other way.
Overall, it was not a great experience for us, which we had high hopes for because we were finally able to get away as a husband and wife to spend a camping weekend together (drove 2 hours to be there) but we did not get the spot we purchased online. It was loud at night, and it was extremely tight inside the campsite.
