Wonderful little museum that discusses and displays the history of Lewes, DE

点评：I did not realize that the Lewes History Museum was a part of the Lewes Historical Society. When I visited the first time, I thought is was a free standing museum that displays the history of the town of Lewes, DE. The museum displays an extensive part of the Society's collection.
The museum is housed in the old library of Lewes and has interesting displays on town history, the Beebe Hospital, the Revolutionary War battles, town businesses, Decorative Arts of different eras, the Shipping Industry, the Farming industry, Native American population artifacts and prominent members of the community. The displays are very detailed and there is something for everyone.
What is nice about admission to the museum is that it is a $5,00 donation that also includes a trip to the Cannonball Museum closer to downtown. The docents are also very nice and very informative.
