A Wonderful Day at Marchmont House
Marchmont House的点评
点评：A quite outstanding visit to Marchmont House. Our guide Carol, whose enthusiasm and interest were obvious, was friendly, engaging and very knowledgeable. It was heroic of the Burge family to save this house and to create within it a brilliantly balanced, but wide-ranging collection of artwork. We loved the gardens too with their thoughtful and well-placed colourful sculptures. All in all a most memorable outing and one to recommend without reservation.
A word too about the catering: it was excellent. From morning coffee with superb homebaking - definitely try the Borders Tart - to the superb buffet lunch with fabulous broccoli quiche, we could not have been better catered for.
Thanks must go to the small team of staff whose dedication to Marchmont House was evident and whose welcome was warm and genuine.
Oliver and Hugo Burge have created a most amazing treasure for the Borders and for Scotland.
