Paddling on Exploits Island

点评：This was one of the best experiences of our life. When travelling to Canada, our main goal was to see the migrating icebergs up close. So we contacted Paul to see whether we could do a kayaking trip with Adventures NL. Paul gave us the best advice on when to come, what to bring, and what to prepare for. He is the most friendly person, really quick in responding and he has loads of experience so we already felt really good about booking this trip before we even got there. He advised us to book a multi-day trip for paddling, because with the one-day trips you're never sure if the weather will be okay. And we are so glad we decided on that multi-day trip! Adventures NL was very flexible in the starting day of our trip, which was great because now Paul could advise us on when the conditions would be best to go out paddling. We stayed for a couple of days at basecamp on Exploits Island with Paul and Joanne and every single day was an absolute great day. Of course, in Newfoundland the weather changes like crazy, so in the end we had one good day for paddling. We kayaked in the bay of the island and were guided by Peter, a great guide who knows so much about the island and its history and made sure we were save and warm the whole time. The other days Paul took us on a boat tour on which we could so icebergs up close, we went hiking around the island and we cooked together. We learned so much about the island, the way of life of Newfoundlanders and their history and we ate such GOOD food. Joannes cooking is amazing, we were really sad we had to leave again. Paul and Joanne went out of their way to make sure we had the best time on Exploits Island and we definitely did. We came there as strangers and left as family and we would book again immediately with them if we could.
