点评:Im local and always wanted to visit but never got round to it till today.
Excellent victorian pumping station that has been preserved and turned into a museum. Great to see all the engines and boiler in the boiler house working.
We met lovely volunteers who explained everything as we toured round they are all passionate and extremely knowledgeable and answered all the questions we had.
Theres lots of signage explaining what everything is which is great. Disabled guests can visit parts of the museum and I saw a volunteer put a ramp out so they are available to help disabled guests navigate round. There was an outside cafe in a marquee selling hot and cold drinks sandwiches cakes and scones all homemade and very reasonably priced. Theres lots of picnic tables and seating around the site
Theres toilet facilities and a separate disabled toilet. Theres a miniature railway you can go on and a blacksmith forge where you can watch them making things and doing demonstrations
We learned alot and im so glad it was preserved. We plan on coming back later in the year.
