The Johnstown Castle and Gardens are well worth the visit and reasonably priced for entry.

点评： We chose a guided tour of the castle rooms, although it is possible to explore the castle exterior and gardens without the extra tour charge.
However the castle tour in the hands of our excellent, friendly, engaging and hugely knowledgeable tour guide "Liam" was extremely enlightening as to the history of the castle the lineage of ownership, the working staff and the historical workings of the castle/grounds during its life and events in local history related to the castle and it's owners past and present.
Altogether an excellent and informative tour.
On exiting the castle after the tour via a long and atmospheric servants tunnel there is plenty to do outside too with a walled gardens and acres of grounds with peacocks, fountains and lakes to explore. We didn't sample the cafe and gift shop on site as we had to rush away but they did look inviting none the less if we'd had more time.
Explore this excellent piece of Ireland's history if in the Wexford area you won't be disappointed.
